A Legacy Revealed: The Secret War

To commemorate April being Wisconsin Hmong Heritage Month, the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center will be opening an exhibit titled “A Legacy Revealed: The Secret War”. To kick off the opening, we are pleased to host Cher Pao Vang. Mr Vang, a Hmong elder and teacher, will speak about his experiences during the Secret War, his time as a refugee, and his life in the US. In the Twin Ports area, he maintains a prominent role in organizing the yearly Hmong New Year at the First United Methodist Church and has served as a speaker to bring awareness about the Hmong to the area.

“I was not drafted because my father sent me across Laos as a missionary, but my uncles and brothers were and I have lost many of them,” said Vang.
