Enjoy a Self-Guided Tour of the Center
This family-friendly, self guided tour showcases one of the area’s most visitied attractions, which features the best stories in the Northland. Visitors will learn about the life and military career of Major Richard Bong and many other area veterans. The Center also features a fully restored P-38 Lighting, M-60 Tank, many other vehicles and weapon displays.
The Center is a tribute to the brave men and women who defended our freedom during the 20th Century. A visit to the museum is a powerful, emotional experience. Through exhibits, displays, and presentations, the museum strives to honor all branches of the service by telling the personal stories of their war experiences. What's in Storage?
Cool Stuff Tour
Have you ever wondered what is in the Center’s Collection Room? This tour is a behind the scenes look of the collection storage area and the process in which the items are cataloged and readied for exhibit. At the end of each tour, guest will be able to sit and visit with Center staff and discuss museum operations/collections.
This tour is available by request only. To schedule this tour, please contact the Bong Center at least 7 days prior to tour date.

Bigger is Better!
Heavy Metal Tour
The Heavy Metal Tour is a special guided tour which guests will learn detailed information on the M-60 tank and the P-38 Lighting airplane, in the context of Major Bong’s first two confirmed claims. The tour features parts of the P-38 not available on the general admission tour, included the viewing of the inside of the cockpit.
The Tour will be led by the Center’s new education program “The Bong Squadron” a group of high school students that have been trained in the best stories in the Northland.
This tour will be available 7 days per week beginning Saturday, June 5 through Sunday, August 29. It will also be available daily for Labor Day weekend from September 4 to 6.
