Join the Junior Curators

The Junior Curators program was created in 2018 to introduce middle school students from Superior to museum work by collecting veteran oral histories and developing mini-exhibits on the veteran.  Students are paired into groups of two and complete their project in one week.  Each student conducts research on topics related to the veteran being interviewed, develops interview questions, completes an oral history interview with the veteran, then develops a small exhibit featuring the veteran.  The exhibit is unveiled at the end of the week and is featured until the following summer in our gallery.

The next Junior Curators program will begin in June 2021.  This year’s program is no longer accepting applications to participate.

Educators, students, and parents interested in the program may contact John Gidley at gidley@bongcenter.org for more information.

The Bong Center is seeking veterans interested who are willing to participate in the program and be interviewed by our Junior Curators.  To learn more or express an interest in participating, contact Briana Fiandt at fiandt@bongcenter.org.
