Supported by the Northland's Best Businesses
Membership with the Center directly supports our youth programs. In 2018 we launched two new programs, the Jr. Curators and Summer Assistant. In these programs, middle school students were able to work in the museum by conducting an oral history with a local veteran and then produced a display that was highlighted in our main gallery. This is what one student said about the program:
“I feel like I made a difference by being able to work in the Center. To be able to interview and record an oral history with a veteran was a great feeling.”
In addition to these programs, we have recently launched two more education programs—the traveling educational trunks and our summer tour guides. Both of these new initiatives will expand our reach into area schools and connect youth with veterans.
What separates the Center from other museums or nonprofits in the Northland is our stories. The stories of the veterans that have served our country. Many of you reading this now either are a veteran, are related to one or know one. You know how unique these stories are, and you understand why it is important for these stories to be preserved and told for future generations.
